Britain’s Billy Joe Saunders successfully defended his WBO middleweight title last night to set up a unification clash with Gennady Golovkin. Saunders produced a boxing masterclass against former IBF champion David Lemieux in Laval, Montreal, Canada with a 12 round shut out. Saunders was expected to be severely tested by the big punching Lemieux, whose only defeat in five years was to unified undefeated champion Gennady Golovkin. Jeff Horn has successfully defended his WBO welterweight world title after a brutal 11 round war with British fighter Gary Corcoran. It was anticipated that this would be an easy night for the Australian, who defeated Filipino great Manny Pacquiao back in July. Former Unified Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury has today been given the green light by United Kingdom Anti Doping, to resume his boxing career. The long running saga stemmed from positive drug test after a fight in February 2015, where high levels of nandrolone metabolites were detected in urine samples.
